I don't know if you remember the Norcold refrigerator. It opened toward the port side. When we sail we can't open the door. If we do then everything falls out. This is not fun.

The ice maker was on the other side so now with the Engel we can always open one of the refrigerators while on passage.

The ice maker is a joke on a boat that tries to cruise. The only way to keep ice in it is to run the generator 24 hours a day. It's really stupid. This makes more sense.
