We installed a Technautics engine-driven fridge/freezer about ten years ago, and it has served us well in multiple cruises to the Bahamas. Added a 3/4hp continuous duty 120vac motor to run the compressor off the generator when we're at anchor. Two 30-40 minute runs a day in warm weather keep the freezer portion of the 8' box (with 6" of insulation) in the zero to 15-degree range and the fridge part in the higher 30's. We routinely make 1 to 2 vertical trays of ice per day, and the Klondike bars and frozen foods stay good and hard.
It was easy to install and maintains easily as well. It replaced an older Adler-Barbour that ate up the amp hours.
