That being said, I have 20' of chain, the rest is 5/8" Nylon 3 strand. Here in the Chesapeake mud these past 13 years, I mostly set the chain... It works for me and I have no intention of switching until and only if, I ever go south. Which is not very likely since I'm not a fan of heat.

Steve may be correct. But, I like 3 strand because you can see the degradation, if there is any. My complaint about double braid is that on several occasions I have seen folks with double braid dock lines whose inner braid has failed and the only thing holding is the outer braid. I'll stick with 3 strand, thank you very much.
