3-STRAND!!!!!!!! stretches best and works well .....doesnt lose its integrity thru chafe--no outside cover covering the mayhem and is easily spliced....i use 100 ft 5/16th chain and 496 ft of 7/8 nylon rope in my ericson---formosa gets 300 ft 5/16 chain and a cqr---backup is 100 ft 5/16 chain and rest 300 ft 7/8 nylon 3 strand...LOL---works great.....so far--never dragged anchor in my own boat...LOL-----never.....(now watch that change--i bragged--smak my naughty paw lol.....)oh--my backup anchor is a 30 pound danforth......primary is a 35 pound CQR ... i want a bruce as well--not a knockoff---heard too many bad things.......lol i am bad......LOl.......fair winds.....
