if you miss a few tucks it isn't going to make that much difference. Once the line runs over the gypsy a few times, soaks up some salt water and dries out a few times it going to take such a set that coming loose is just not going to happen. Someone is going to say "Yeah, it's the first few times you gotta worry about"! That may be true but I've missed a few tucks here and there over the years and my splices seem to work fine. There have been a couple that I wouldn't show off at a boat show but I'm not going to loose any sleep because it doesn't look perfect. Having said that, I think I'm going to redo my splice tomorrow...
