Weight is a top priority for you on the tri.

For most people with a monohull weight isn't as high on the list.

It would be interesting to get a reliable calculator that can tell you the square foot of sail necessary to make up for a specific addition of weight. Something like, add 500 lbs on a displacing hull of X number of tons needs 22.5 square foot of additional sail to keep the same performance in 10 knots of wind.

Hell, we'd probably double our sail area.
