Same here -- Lewmar Ocean 10 years
In Response To: Our Lewmar Ocean unit has held-up well for 12 seasons --- ()
.... plus Defender blew them out two years ago for $400 and I have a new drop-in spare in my basement. I figured if I ever needed a repair I'd just replace it at that price; and if I never need it there's a new-in-box windlass I can sell on eBay and surely make a profit.

- I think you COULD get by with a mixed rode; however,

- FYI 5/16" chain is about 1.1 lb. per foot.
- go with a brait rode. won't asshole up and takes up less room in the locker.
