As a family of four, over a couple of decades, we've spent about a month(avg) each season on board. Even now with the kids gone, we spent about the same amount of days/nights onboard.

Compared to other recreation, skiing, golf, tennis(I know their costs well...), sailing can be a good deal of $/hour costs.

We like to travel too so it's cheap "vacation rental" that we like to move to new areas in NE.
