We kept a boat there for about 10 years. Most anytime we sailed down the coast, outside of a few spots like the NYC area, we found prices for moorings or dockage pretty reasonable. Farther south, they were a downright deal!

Even in places like the Annapolis area, we found if you looked around outside of the immediate area, there were reasonable costs to keep a boat. We wintered a boat there one year up a creek at a nice dock for little more than storage would have cost us in Vermont.

Some places on the east coast are gone forever for reasonable boating. It's usually the most expensive places to live as well(hence the pressure to convert boat space to realestate).

Ironically, there isn't a good boat club that has reasonable dockage or moorage in this area of Maine.
