Remember back in the '70s every furniture store was hawking the "hatch-cover table?" Several hundred bucks a pop.
I was walking from the dock at Isle of Hope to the office and looked down. The entire walkway was a series of hatch covers, complete with steel bands and handles in those recesses. One, two, three, four, five. six . . . I lost count. Damn, a dark night, belt sander, and a bucket of resin and I could have joined the middle class!
