I don't think he had strong plans to get too far south.

But I think he decided he likes a slow pace and wants to enjoy being somewhere as opposed to getting somewhere. That's the age thing I was wondering about. Dave and Pam don't seem to have a strong goal way south. I'd probably find a way to get to the Bahamas, because I think they are more than worth it(but I might get creative and leave some of the "driving" to someone else )

It reminds me of how young people think nothing of driving to southern Florida for springbreak(most of us had that "energy"). Mary Ann and I enjoyed doing the ICW "drive" when we were younger. I'd still like to do it, but at less than a delivery pace.

You get to be a little older and that thought may not be as appealing once you find comfortable weather. I think Roger just wants to hang out on his nice boat and enjoy where he is. I can understand that.

It's a long drive from New England to southern florida(I95 or ICW). If you work at it on the ICW, you can get some sailing in, but that might be miniscule, in the end.

Imagine doing the I-95 drive at 7 mph, that's a really long drive for some our age.
