The LED's that we have really function as a point source. It's a different quality of light.

The Sailor's Solution bulbs have a relative warm (say 3200K temperature); and, they're as brighter than any other plug-and-play replacement that I've seen. However, they aren't diffuse at all. They leave very sharp shadows.

I've been happy with them, they definitely save power and "do the job", but the quality of light is different.
