The answer is not to force them out of the community.

Hey Larry,

There have been, and will always be poor folk. It's a fact of life. Marathon's answer is to raise fees enough to force them to move somewhere else. It does not address the real problem of poverty and homelessness in America.

If the city council passes this ordinance, I will make it a point to avoid Marathon, and will advise others to do the same. Not that they care, nor will it have much of an impact, but I don't like associating with assholes like that. I spent many years of my life working to improve where I've lived, including founding a BID (business improvement district) and a Boys & Girls Club, and I would be a hypocrite if I endorsed this kind of self centered life-is-all-about-me legislation.

Screw them, and the horse they rode in on. I suggest that anyone heading down that way give Marathon a pass.
