You are absolutely correct. Back in the day we had two XKEs in for restoration in our shop. One of them I owned outright and the other was done for a customer. These were the first generation E types and for class and elegance, still my ultimate choice of a sports car . I recall selling mine - fully restored - for $10,000. I have several such stories and each of them make me weep.

I've never seen a B-40 but have heard the tales.
