Gene, have you checked the compression?

Rent or buy a compression gauge. Pull an injector and test it. Fuel, compression and air is all you need. Have you checked the fuel pick up? You should take a fuel hose into a 5 gallon jug to bypass the fuel tank. Buy and install an electric fuel pump and pump fuel through the system while bleeding it. Take the exhaust system off and run a hose into a bucket for the short time it takes to see if it starts. Buying these items will be cheaper then paying a mechanic. The first thing a good mechanic will do is to check the compression anyway. You're still in Mission Bay aren't you? If you want me to come by, I'll give you my 2 cents.
