By the way...you will probably never get them apart

that nipple has reverse threads on one side so you can tighten it like a turnbuckle in tight engine spaces. The nipple is stainless and the other stuff is cast, and the nipple is much thinner. You will need a big vise and a 4 foot pipe wrench to get it apart.
