That sounds like more than I want to learn about fiberglassing.

Wood(and plywood) is an old friend. It's nice to work with. Not having done as much fiberglass work as you, I'm already fretting about glassing the cloth onto the pieces today. West is a little like roofing tar: no matter how I try, once I open the can(or pump the West), I end up getting all over the place, including me. And I'm not crazy about working with the smell either.

Plus with so much ipe figuring and fastening(and probably moving), screws into plywood should work well. Then there are the hinges and how to fasten, a lot of stuff to do differently. Plus, I already cut up 2 of 3 sheets($280). Come to think of it, the West system might cost as much as the plywood.
