I've done very little with cloth and epoxy. As soon as I started, I needed to go get a new West pump(that seems to happen every time I use the stuff). Freed the ball, didn't have a gallon of Acetone for cleaning it, forgetaboutit.
It takes a little knack so after I got started it didn't go too badly. Having a big space in the sun makes things a little easier. I can't stand the smell of polyester resin but epoxy doesn't seem to smell much if at al.
Here are the cockpit well panels with engine panel cut out and a locker cut into the aft well, + a door to fit. It seems to take quite a bit of time for the West to wet the cloth out, especially around the edges. But it finally happened.
Instruction online are a little vague. I was able to trim the excess cloth about 5 hours later. Still a little tacky but not sticking to my rubber glove I figured that was the time for the first fill coat. The weave was very rough but brushing on this coat filled it up more than I expected. I've turned the heat down to 60 thinking I don't want it to totally cure before I give it one more fill coat in the morning(without sanding). Make sense? Maybe I should turn the heat down to 50?
