What we found VERY useful was a multi-tool battery kit. It has a cordless drill, router, skill saw, jig saw, and sander. We bought the 12 volt model. YES, I know the 18 volt model is much stronger. BUT, what I did was use it until the first battery went bad. I then opened it up and put a cord I made up with a cigarette lighter adapter on one end and the old gutted batter on the other. I now have a convertible corded AND cordless set of tools. I put all of it (and other items) in one of the orange dry boxes. It has come in VERY handy as we cruised for 4 years.

Yes, we also have a 12 volt shop vac and battery powered Dremmel type tool.
