I don't think either do true inrush currents...

however the Extech has a Max Hold feature which captures the maximum current until you reset it. I have used this to capture inrush currents like I suggested in the example. The update rate on the Blue Sea is spec'd at 2 seconds, that is fairly slow. The Extech is slow too, but my guess is it is about 0.5 - 1 second.

Fluke does not list anything like this in their catalog. Closest thing is the 330 series, DC current resolution of 0.5A. Tillertard is once again hitting the hashish. Fluke does make some clamp on probes readable by other instruments, but these are expensive costing several times what the Blue Sea or Extech meters cost.
