I'll disagree with that ...

... how are you going to know what stubby you'll want "as needed" and where are you going to find it in the Bahamas ? For $50 bucks, how can you go wrong, and you'll spend well over that buying them individually. I also have regular combination wrenches, two sets, one regular and one that ratchet, and I hardly ever use these. The Stubby's are great for working around the engine and in tight spots and we all know there are plenty of tight spots on a boat where you can barely get your hand in, and where a regular length combination wrench would not fit. If I had to choose between a Stubby and a regular lenght set, it would be the Stubbys.

Other than my nut driver, a pair of dykes, and the Phillips #2 driver, I can't think of a tool(s) that I use more than the Stubby's ... but that's me.

I have three tool bags. Two larger ones of various tools I don't use very often and these bags are stowed. Then I have a very small bag with a few tools that I store in the NAV locker that I can get in a second and I use every day it seems, this includes the Stubbys.

cheers, John
