give you the exact type but it does max-min, DC inrush and has jacks for leads in the bottom so you can use it for a regular DC/AC amp meter. It's very handy because you don't need an extra meter, it does it all. This is not the place to skimp on the price of a tool. Spend the extra bucks and have a good clamp on meter for the rest of your life. Your life will most likely be longer for the effort. It's a stress reliever...IMHO
