It feels as though it's shrinking around my sailing world. I can't think of the last person that jumped into a cruising sized sailboat, but I can think of a few who jumped out. And I don't see or hear as much of the seasonal exodus, a winter down south, it seems I used to witness.
But I am seeing a few people getting into sailboats of various kinds. Some of that is for racing and a small renaissance in wooden boats in my area. This has been a slight change somewhat driven by the exodus out of motor boating.
