"High end Daysailers" are your words Jon.

Not mine. New boat costs aside (they make no more sense now than they did 50 years ago), a 36' Morris daysailer isn't that much of a high end 36'er today for me. It's pretty spare in displacement and equipment. The M52' or the Friendship are high end for sure.

I agree, Jboats have been in this area already for some time. But they too have jumped on the new bandwagon a bit with some modest (new boat cost aside) size boats that are really designed for racing and just daysailing. Heck they've gone to harbor sailing as a pastime, I think it's great. I like them alot.

The heavy clunky chunky cruising boats even from Morris just a few years ago, had the newest sail handling gear, but they're never given me the impression they would be fun to sail for a couple hours right out of the harbor. My guess is the next line of cruising boats will in fact, claim, that's what they do.

What do you think the next generation of new cruising boat design will be? You think we'll continue with what was hot 10 years ago? 50 some feet, 2 staterooms, designer kitche...er galley, and other housing amenities, wide high and heavy?

I'll probably be wrong, but.....
