You need to inflate the air floor using a higher pressure orfice from the pump than the tubes. If you do that, I think it's pretty much as advertised. If you had something bigger than a 10HP engine, you might not find it stiff enough if you're "pounding" into some short, stiff, chop.
However, if you deflate the dingy and then pump-out the tubes with the foot pump (or an electric one) -- it will become much more compact to fold.
WE have an old, before Zodiac, Avon dingy. Zodiac supposedly makes a pretty good airfloor.
