I agree that the dinghy is more important...

than "just" transportation to a nearby beach. When we're in the Bahamas, the "nearby" town/beach might be 3-5 miles in choppy water. We spend lots of time in the Jumentos/Ragged Islands and do lots of spearfishing. Hauling two people and gear to and from the reefs is not something to do via rowing, or on a "mini-dinghy". Is it a NEED...yes, for safety's sake. We are hunting at least every other day down there. Yes, it's a choice to go there, but that is what we choose, and therefore, I believe that a more substantial dinghy and motor is necessary. A dinghy choice is very much like the "big boat" choice...what are you going to do with it? That answer usually determines what your choice should be.
