My number one rule of Dinghy Exploration: Never, EVER, venture further away from the mother ship, than you'd care to row back... (grin)
On more than one occasion - in the Bahamas, particularly - I've seen people get stranded in situations where they could have been in deep shit, were it not for the availability of another cruiser, with another SUV dinghy, to come and rescue them...
