Nah, as I've said elsewhere, I think your speculation below is likely the closest to describing what really went on...
From one of the Comments on Panbo, sounds like the skipper was busy dodging lobster pots at the time... Still begs the question, however, if dodging a pot is gonna risk putting you on a ledge, perhaps you're a bit too close to that ledge to begin with...
It would also be interesting to know whether he was motorsailing at the time... Under sail alone, snagging a pot warp might not have been as much of a concern. but if the engine was turning, it would likely be more so, even though I would certainly expect that boat to be equipped with Spurs...
