Junk science is very seductive to the untrained because it tells you what you would like to hear: That people who've studied and worked hard for years to learn and understand their subject are not as smart as you are. Pfft. I even get junk science from wishful-thinking executives at my aerospace engineering company who should damn well know better. They're always wanting to repeal the laws of thermodynamics. Grr. Sorry, but it's not just climate change deniers, but "laws of physics" deniers that help drive this country down a well of ignorance.
