Remember the bible says go forth and multiply. It also says God gave man dominion over the earth.

Organized religion wants more members of the church - regardless of which church.

Big business wants more business - so more population to buy more stuff. The future be dammed. The annual report is about as far forward as they look.

Neither organized religion or big business pay for the problems caused by overpopulation, therefore they don't care.

It is difficult to make something like large families socially unacceptable when organized religion and big business promote it.
