But, clearly, it's way way way beyond organized religion and big business...like, biological imperative, to keep the species going. Doesn't matter if you're a paramecium, a mountain goat, a human, or a blue whale: there's always will be the urge to merge (more or less, anyway; some never reproduce, of course). Or maybe we will discover a way to "cure" that in humans and make the planet more sustainable...

And I'll tell you how this is related to sailing...too many bloody people, with boats means multi-year wait lists at marinas for a slip! Shoulda bought a slip around here years ago when one was for sale...coulda got one pretty cheaply, and re-sold for a good profit, or better, sublet it out for a handsome profit nowadays...20/20 hindsight, alas.
