When Smith says "the human race is a virus. it attaches itself to a host and uses up all the resources the host has to offer. Then when the host cannot support the virus anymore, it simply moves on to another host. Hmmm, if that's the case, we had better get our butts in gear on learning how to accomplish interstellar travel don't ya think???
