We do with exceptions & compromise.

I'd like to say that we flake our main but the truth is that we just 'kind of' flake it.

Our boom is about 5 feet over the coach roof with the head at about 8 feet when down. The boom is 18' long and the dodger makes it difficult to get to the entire rear half. On top of that is the fact that it's 12.5 oz. (like cardboard). So, do I flake it,, again,, kind of.

In order to get the Mack Pack zippered we need to have some sort of order to the main. In order to get the Mack Pack zipped I flake the forward area all to one side,,, then, moving to the rear (behind the dodger) I grab the leach, pull and try to make some sense to the whole thing so it will zip up. I think that if the sail was more in the neighborhood of 8 oz. I'd take more time to flake it as I always want to but with a main that's so heavy it just doesn't work. The good part about a main that's so heavy is that after 9 years and more than 20,000 miles it's still in great condition.

If it would flake I'd do it but I really can't. Just 'kind of'.
