although as a homeowner my focus has changed considerably. We hardly used the boat this year. Too many other things to deal with.

As I see it the big advantage of lazy jacks it that they can be made retractable. Mine are hooked under the reefing hooks and completely out of the way except when dropping the main. The setup is very easy to do. Where the lines come together I used tiny Ronstan blocks - 300 lb SWL (IIRC). They are plastic and therefore don't damage the mast paint.

But then. some lucky stiffs like you don't need to mess with sails at all, just engine and fuel issues.
