That's what we do on the race boat... all sails are rolled.

Of course it takes several crew to do this... but the sails still retain quite a bit of their "like new" crispness.

The owner of the boat has a special rig that attaches to his trailer hitch that allows him to tote the rolled sails back and forth to his home. He said he got the idea from watching carpet installers put in new carpet and carry the long rolls in the same manner.

BTW, he flakes the "delivery sails."
