Here's a pic of my current ride, a beautiful Cabo Rico 42... Modern boats just don't come much prettier than this, with her low freeboard, beautiful sheerline, wide side decks, she has that sort of beauty that is shared by Hinckleys and Aldens, and is retained even from the generally least flattering angle - that from over the stern quarter...
That is, until you put davits on her, and hang a big inflatable off the ass end... Damn, I hope Chuck Paine never sees this pic... (grin)
In my observation, dinghy selection are determining more and more the style of cruising people are doing... Virtually everyone I see heading south, and to the Bahamas, believe you NEED an SUV dinghy to survive...
There's a heavy price to be paid for that choice, and guaranteed, it WILL result in your motoring more, and sailing less...
