Just wasn't meant to be this year, I guess... Lots of things conspired against it, not the least of which is still dealing with the fallout from the Hurricane Sandy last fall, I'm still dealing with a lot of that mess, and making little headway, it seems...

The final straw, however, was my brother and sister-in-law coming east for a visit... They were celebrating their 30th anniversary with a trip to Europe commencing by boarding the Queen Mary II in NYC... I just couldn't miss that one, and by the time they were gone, it was getting a bit late in the summer to have headed as far north as I was hoping to go... Plus, I have had quite a bit of delivery work coming my way lately, and given how slow that business has been in recent years, those jobs are tough to pass up...

I may still get away for a few weeks in September, the Newport Boat Show is always a nice excuse to head up that way, at what is often the nicest time of the year... we shall see...

But next summer, someone please shoot me, if I don't get going early, headed for the Far North... (grin)
