We carried a bailer and a rag to keep it dry. The key is large diameter tubes(Caribe 8-1/2 ft). In rough seas we could ship some water but by going slow we minimized it. Most of the bailing and sponging was from rain.

In the 20 years of cruising we owned three dinghies. The first had smaller diameter tubes. It was stolen in St. Marten. The last two were Caribe - almost identical models. After 11 years I decided I wanted a new one and sold the old one for half of what I paid for it.
