Although davit's might offer some dinghy security We both hate the look and would never consider adding them to our boat.
We tow our Trinka all over the place. We have an 8' Aqua Dutch that we take (rolled up and stowed below decks) when heading to places like Bermuda. Both power just fine with a 2 or 3hp engine and it takes minutes to get the engine from the stern of Esmeralde to the dinghy.
Sailing performance is too important to compromise with a dinghy loaded with an engine under tow! Not while I can still lift the outboard to the rear rail.
On our boat although a dinghy would fit on the foredeck, that would preclude the flying of spinnakers..... No dinghy a on the foredeck of Esmeralde!
