I admit that I keep at least one version of printed charts on board for any area that I am likely to encounter on that cruise. Along with ENC and RNC charts in two forms, Navionics vector charts in two forms. Even so, no electronic chart plotter can compete for human interface with a paper chart in most respects, until I have a chart plotter that is about 32 x 24 and high resolution.
