My editor kept saying, "you should be reading this on a tablet". The rationale being, most things internet were moving toward tablets and smart phones for best viewing. Sure enough, for some formats, apps, magazines, etc. it's true. So it only makes sense to write/phootograph/caption for the device you'll be read on. In fact I converted a writing check into the ipad(I don't spend money freely on stuff like this-my boat is pure luddite gizmo wise-ironically, that also makes it less prone to electronic armegeddon).
But the added chartplotter for the boat sealed the deal. That's worked out far better than expected and I've pretty much mentioned the ways. For travel in general, it's a huge improvement over the macbook(and hence the draw to the mini,....)
The biggest disappointment is at home use. Except for aforementioned tablet formatted reading, I prefer my macbook. I'm a keyboard person and always writing. The tablet just isn't as good. But it gets used by my family, movies, etc, constantly.
But rather than get stuck left behind , I'll continue forcing myself even to type on it(I may get a blue tooth keyboard for the boat for writing).
Tech divides people. I got your luddite comment because I've seen tech send people in both directions over decades. Age is a huge factor but not for everybody. I've spent the last couple decades with kids so that pushes me forward. But I also am my childrens luddite. The CSBB needs input from people like you(that lowers our median age), even if it ruffles some feathers.
