Our new chartplotter feels like I am using a computer from the 90's. I have yet to see a chartplotter that I would place closer than 10 years behind a new computer. We do all of our planning and most of our navigating using a computer - where the interface and speed is much more user-friendly and advanced.

Perhaps my background in manipulating sub-microscopic objects in 3 dimensions helps me in keeping my "virtual" peripheral vision indistinguishable to me as my "sensed" peripheral vision. But I don't seem to be the only one - many people I meet are planning and navigating safely without any paper necessary and without feeling loss.
