demonstrates what seamanship is all about. It's seamanship when we know what 'can' happen and prepare ourselves, our boat, and our crew to handle the what-ifs. No one can totally eliminate risk but then a seaman understands that and does what is prudent under the circumstances. That's the part that is invisible to the rest of the observers in the anchorage. It's difficult to 'see' what allowances, precautions and circumstances a skipper has prepared for. It's also what makes a snap judgement of another skipper's intentions and abilities a dangerouse thing.
