Well there's no dance

because if we're pointed up within about 25-degrees of the apparent wind I can just leave the mainsheet slack and raise the main without issue, as it vanes into the wind. I don't go beam-to. I just motor ahead slowly and raise it with the electric winch without leaving the cockpit. Under sail, the sail cover is rolled alongside the boom and retained by 4 shock cords each side. I release the shock cord and unroll the cover -- head up, release it from the cockpit and it drops right down into the lazy jacks. Then I pull up the cover on each side, and zip it closed at the top.

Seriously Dave, I'd be very surprised if the Dutchman sold more than a very few to someone who has full-battens and lazy-jacks, unless perhaps it was a new owner who hadn't actually tried out that system. Don't get me wrong -- the Dutchman is very nice, but it is needless along with that configuration.

The sail handling is really pretty easy just the way the boat came from the factory. Wouldn't change it.
