Having sailed in and out a lot over ten years of no motor....

I lean toward too much sail up for tight quarters restricting view forward and leaving them open to disaster with wind change..IMHO. Tough to wrassle that big genny across the foredeck in a hurry, etc.
My boat was a lot smaller but the quarters of my marina were very tight...back in the day.
