Well, you posted that your battens get caught on your lazy jacks.

"The issue when raising the sail on a beam-to attitude is that the full-length battens get hung-up on the lazy-jack lines."

When a batten hangs, you drop the main a bit and try it again, and again, until the battens clear. Not an issue with the Dutchman. Lazy Jacks are better than nothing, but not a very good way to handle a mainsail.
