I use it to keep track of my position and onboard charts for route planning.

If I do any route pre planning I'll go online at home but as I don't have a computer onboard, it's not route planning in the sense of waypoints, just a pleasant way to explore when not on the boat. The last time I used a waypoint may have been on a loran.

- What's a GPS? All I need is a stick and a piece of string to do my navigating. '-)
- I use paper charts, verify position with GPS, and mark 1 eyeballs
