One would hope a company as "marine" savvy as Navionics, they might suggest to their users that when you updat there content you will need to be updated as well. I can't imagine Adobe providing and update and then all they work you've created gets lost or "hidden" away in a backup! Can't imagine Any softeware company acting that way.

As for a good value. I personally don't consider it much value to have charts that are useless! I can't say about the US or the Bahamas. But down here the most valuable info I get from iNavonics is course speed and distance to a waypoint. All info easily attained elsewhere.

But, the good news is the you thought to look to iTunes sync to see about restoring the charts. I never did think of that as a possibility.
