If your anchorages are 20 feet, and you have 3 feet of freeboard you need 161 feet for 7:1. I'd carry 250 just to have the extra margin for deeper water or to let out scope.
Also, I've been using 3-strand rodes all my life but switched to brait 2 years ago. Really like the way it falls into the locker. It's easy to splice too.
