Electric rates down here are 0.45/kWH, diesel is $4.65/gallon, gasoline is $5.50/gallon, propane is $20-35 for a 20lb tank refill (although if you can adapt your usage to the native tanks, this goes to $15).
A solar install at $1-2/watt becomes very attractive.
